　　One light, two lights, three lights…

　　No one knows how many lights we have passed,

　　And the light compressed and lengthened

　　Two figures, shoulders pressed close together.

　　You and I are wandering

　　Like two sleepwalkers:

　　Heedless of the flying snowflakes

　　And ignoring cars blaring for right of way.

　　One light, two lights, three lights…

　　No one knows how many street lights we have passed,

　　You urged me time and again to go home,

　　But as parting came, you held my hand tight again.

　　You and I are wandering

　　Like two sleepwalkers.

　　I wish that your home were a thousand miles away

　　And we could then walk the whole night through till dawn.
