豆腐渣工程
“豆腐渣工程”指由于偷工减料、设计过失或监督不利等原因造成建筑的实际寿命远低于设计寿命的工程。狭义上，豆腐渣工程专指质量不达标的工程;广义上，豆腐渣工程也指生产经营过程中的一切不合格项。“豆腐渣工程”是朱镕基总理在1998年全国洪水灾害期间说的，从此“豆腐渣工程”就成为了那些烂工程的代名词。

"Jerry-built projects" is a term for projects with a product life span shorter than industry standard. This is due to the use of substandard materials in construction, design faults, or poor management. Simply put, jerry-built projects are those of sub-par quality. To expand upon that, jerry-built projects include all low quality elements involved in the manufacturing and management processes.
