According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, this sector in 2017 handled more than 2.8 billion trips and generated more than 740 billion yuan in revenue, or 110 billion dollars, equivalent to one third of the revenue produced by domestic holiday tours. These numbers attest to the enormous popularity of agritourism in China.
