　　Xu Dishan (1894-1941) is a distinguished modern Chinese novelist and prose writer. He is one of the pioneers of the new literature movement during the "May 4th Movement", and one of the representative novelists who described the problems of the 1920s. Most of his works are set in Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Southeast Asia, and India. His works not only express his perception and interpretation, but also demonstrate his multiple interpretations of the Christian cultures, the Taoist cultures and cultural realism.
